Plastic and rubber waste generated in the process of mechanical processing is an important environmental and social problem of today. These materials are widely used in the production of various goods, from household products to engineering structures. However, after their use, they become waste, requiring special measures for their processing.

Mechanical processing of plastic and rubber waste includes sorting, grinding, compaction and granulation. Although these processes allow reducing the volume of waste and preparing it for reuse, they still have a number of disadvantages. This leads to the accumulation of large volumes of waste in landfills and landfills, which poses a serious threat to the environment and human health.

Plastics and rubber are materials with high resistance to biological decomposition. As a result, even after many decades, they do not decompose naturally, which leads to the accumulation of garbage and increasing the load on landfills. Moreover, some types of plastics can release toxic substances during decomposition, which only worsens the situation.

It is also worth noting that the operations of collecting, sorting, crushing and processing waste plastics and rubber often require significant energy resources. • development of a separate waste collection system, which allows to increase the efficiency of their sorting and processing;
• use of alternative materials that are less harmful to the environment and human health;
• increasing public awareness of the importance of proper handling of plastic and rubber waste.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen control over the operations of collection, sorting, crushing and processing (D13) of plastic and rubber waste to ensure that damage to the environment is minimized.
