Other types of waste of this subgroup

19 01 99 Other waste of this subgroup

whyneed

Waste from incineration or pyrolysis of waste is one of the most complex environmental problems of modern society. These types of waste arise as a result of heat treatment of various materials, which leads to the formation of solid residues, ash and slag. Despite the reduction in the amount of solid waste by incineration or pyrolysis, the generated waste of this subgroup still contains significant amounts of toxic substances that pose a threat to the environment and human health.

The incineration or pyrolysis process, although effective in reducing the amount of waste, still creates a number of environmental and technogenic risks. Such risks include emissions of dioxins, heavy metals and other toxic substances into the atmosphere accompanying combustion processes. These substances, entering the environment, can have a long-term negative impact on ecosystems, soils, water resources and air.

In addition, the problem of managing other wastes of this subgroup is complicated by the insufficient amount of appropriate infrastructure for their safe collection, sorting, transportation and processing. This leads to the accumulation of hazardous waste that requires special storage and neutralization conditions.

Methods of environmental management of other wastes of this subgroup require the development of new approaches that will minimize their negative impact on the environment. Now there is a significant demand for new technologies that would allow for efficient processing of waste of this subgroup without significant environmental damage. Waste management, collection and processing services: Other waste of this subgroup, NPV code 19 01 99.

Other waste of this subgroup. Code in accordance with the National List of Waste 19 01 99. Operations in accordance with Appendices 1, 2 to the Law of Ukraine "On Waste Management" D13, D15.

A pity for the environment and people

howutilize

The ecological impact of this subgroup of waste on the environment is significant and multifaceted. First, incineration or pyrolysis of waste results in greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to global warming and climate change. Secondly, the residues formed during these processes, such as ash and slag, contain heavy metals that can enter the soil and water resources, causing their pollution.

The main environmental threats associated with other wastes of this subgroup include:

  • emissions of dioxins and other toxic substances into the atmosphere;
  • pollution of soils with heavy metals;
  • contamination of water resources due to leaching of toxic components;
  • long-term negative impact on ecosystems.

Operations for collection, sorting, crushing and processing (D13) of other wastes of this subgroup also often do not take into account environmental standards, which can lead to additional pollution. For example, during the transportation of other wastes of this subgroup, spills or emissions may occur, which further complicates the situation.

It is also worth noting that emissions of dioxins and other toxic substances can have long-term consequences for air, water and soil quality. Such substances can accumulate in food chains, affecting the health of animals and plants.

Pity for people

Harm from other wastes in this subgroup for humans manifests itself through several channels, including inhalation of polluted air, consumption of contaminated food and water, and direct contact with toxic substances. Inhalation of dioxins, which are released during the burning or pyrolysis of waste, can lead to the development of a number of serious diseases, including cancer, respiratory problems and disorders of the immune system.

In addition, heavy metals contained in incineration residues can enter the human body through water or food, causing toxic poisoning. The main risks to human health include:

  • risk of developing cancer
  • toxic poisoning by heavy metals
  • disruption of nervous and immune system functions
  • respiratory diseases

In addition, constant contact with other wastes of this subgroup can cause skin diseases, allergic reactions and other dermatological problems. This is especially relevant for workers who are engaged in the transportation of other wastes of this subgroup or their processing.

According to recent studies, dioxins and other toxins released during waste incineration can accumulate in the human body, leading to long-term negative health effects. These substances are persistent and can be stored in tissues for a long time, increasing the risk of developing chronic diseases.

Ways to reduce harm

whyneed

Effective management of other wastes of this subgroup requires an integrated approach that includes both technological and organizational measures. The main ways to reduce damage are:

  • implementation of modern technologies of waste treatment, which allow to minimize emissions of harmful substances;
  • development and implementation of environmental management standards for other wastes of this subgroup;
  • organization of safe transportation of other waste of this subgroup;
  • training and advanced training of employees employed in the field of waste management.

Methods of ecological management of other wastes of this subgroup should include processes of monitoring and controlling emissions, ensuring safe storage (D15) of residual materials and using technologies that minimize the formation of toxic substances.

In addition, an important aspect is informing the public about the potential risks associated with other wastes of this subgroup and the need to comply with environmental norms and standards.
