Production and processing of meat, fish and other food products of animal origin is an important component of the food industry. However, this process leads to the formation of a large amount of waste, which belongs to the "other waste" subgroup.

Every year, millions of tons of meat and fish products are produced in the world. During their processing, significant volumes of waste are generated, such as bones, skin, fat, entrails, scales and other residues. This waste is often not reused and ends up in landfills, where it can decompose for a long time, releasing harmful substances into the environment. • improvement of the waste collection and processing system: it is necessary to create an effective infrastructure for the collection, sorting, crushing and processing of other wastes of this subgroup;
• increasing the level of awareness among producers and consumers: educational programs and campaigns will contribute to increasing the level of knowledge about the environmental management of other wastes of this subgroup.

It is also important to manage other wastes of this subgroup at the transportation stage to avoid additional environmental pollution. Methods of ecological management of other wastes of this subgroup include:

• use of specialized transport: ensuring proper transportation of waste with minimal risk to the environment and people;
• providing safe conditions for workers: providing adequate protection for those working with waste to avoid possible illnesses and injuries.

Operations for collection, sorting, crushing and treatment (D13) of other wastes of this subgroup must be organized in such a way as to maximize reuse and minimize environmental impact. This includes:

• use of modern equipment: ensuring efficient processing of waste with minimal loss of resources (R5);
• implementation of a quality control system: monitoring and evaluation of processing processes to ensure their efficiency and safety.
