Coarse screening fractions

The problem of handling screening (coarse fractions) formed at wastewater treatment plants is one of the important challenges of modern society. These wastes consist of large particles remaining after the main wastewater treatment process and are often overlooked due to their small volume compared to other types of industrial waste. However, these wastes can have a significant impact on the environment if proper measures are not taken regarding their environmental management.

They are formed in large volumes at enterprises engaged in wastewater treatment, and require special methods of environmental management. Improper handling of these wastes can lead to serious environmental and social problems.

Environmental management of screening waste (coarse fractions) requires the use of complex approaches, which include operations of collection, sorting, crushing and processing of screening waste (coarse fractions). In addition, an important aspect is the transportation of screening waste (coarse fractions) to the places of their further processing or storage. In order to reduce the negative impact of screening waste (coarse fractions) on the environment and human health, it is necessary to apply complex approaches to their environmental management. This includes the following measures:

• implementation of modern technologies for waste collection and processing, which allows to reduce their volume and toxicity;
• use of specialized filters (D9) and other devices to reduce dust emissions during waste transportation and storage;
• creating specialized landfills (D5) for storing waste, ensuring their isolation from the environment;
• constant monitoring of the state of the environment and the health of people who come into contact with waste;
• development and implementation of safety standards for working with screening waste (coarse fractions).

In addition, an important element is the continuous education and awareness of workers about the hazards associated with the waste, as well as the safety measures that must be followed. This will reduce risks to health and the environment and ensure safe work with screening waste (coarse fractions).
