17 01 Concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics
In today's world, the increasing pace of urbanization leads to the widespread use of building materials such as concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics. Despite the fact that these materials are an integral part of the construction industry, their production and use create a significant amount of waste. This waste accumulates in landfills or is taken to specialized landfills, which creates serious environmental and social problems.
Waste construction materials, such as concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics, are usually generated during the dismantling of buildings and infrastructure facilities, as well as during renovation works. A large part of these materials cannot be reused due to complex physical properties and significant weight. In addition, the lack of effective methods of processing and management of this waste only exacerbates the problem.
Concrete, brick, tile and ceramic waste collection, sorting, crushing and processing operations require significant resource and technological investment. Modern methods of environmental management of waste concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics leave much to be desired, as they often do not provide a sufficient level of recycling and disposal. This leads to a significant burden on the environment and creates risks for people's health. Services for waste management, collection and processing: Concrete, brick, facing tiles and ceramics NPV code 17 01
Transporting waste concrete, bricks, tiles and ceramics is also a challenge, as these materials are heavy and bulky, requiring specialized transport and significant logistics costs. In view of this, there is an urgent need to develop new approaches and technologies for effective management of waste construction materials.
Concrete, brick, facing tiles and ceramics. Code in accordance with the National List of Waste 17 01. Operations in accordance with Appendices 1, 2 to the Law of Ukraine "On Waste Management" R7, D13.
A pity for the environment and people
Incorrect waste management of concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics leads to significant environmental pollution. Waste of these materials dumped in landfills or unauthorized landfills can cause soil and water pollution. For example, concrete and ceramics contain various chemical compounds that can seep into the soil and contaminate groundwater.
In addition, the accumulation of large volumes of construction waste leads to a decrease in the area of land suitable for use in agriculture or other purposes. Air pollution is also a serious problem, as a large amount of dust is generated during the transportation and crushing of waste, which negatively affects air quality and can cause respiratory diseases in the population.
Incorrect storage and transportation of waste concrete, bricks, tiles and ceramics can cause soil erosion, leading to landscape degradation and loss of biodiversity. In addition, a large amount of such waste, which remains unused, contributes to the growth of the amount of garbage accumulated in landfills, which may eventually cause their overload and the need to create new landfills.
Pity for people
Construction waste, including concrete, bricks, tiles and ceramics, can have a serious impact on human health. Dust generated during the transportation and processing of these materials can cause respiratory diseases, allergies and other problems with the respiratory system. Particularly dangerous is dust containing small particles of concrete or bricks that can penetrate the lungs and cause chronic diseases.
In addition, the presence of heavy metals in the composition of some building materials can lead to poisoning and other serious diseases. For example, ceramics can contain lead, which is toxic to humans even in small amounts. Improper handling of such waste can cause it to enter the environment, where it can harm both human health and ecosystems.
It is also worth noting that unauthorized storage of waste concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics near populated areas can pose a danger to the local population due to the possibility of collapses or landslides. This can lead to injury or even death, especially among children and the elderly.
Ways to reduce harm
In order to reduce damage from construction waste, it is necessary to implement modern methods of ecological management of waste concrete, brick, facing tiles and ceramics. Waste sorting and processing plays an important role in this. For example, concrete can be crushed into small fractions and used as a filler for new building materials or for strengthening soils.
Concrete, brick, tile and ceramic waste management should also include the use of alternative recycling methods, such as the production of new construction materials using recycled materials (R7). This will reduce the burden on natural resources and reduce the volume of waste accumulated in landfills.
An effective method of reducing damage from construction waste is the implementation of a system of separate collection and transportation of waste. This allows you to minimize the risks of environmental pollution and reduce recycling costs. In addition, it is important to develop new technologies for processing complex materials, such as facing tiles and ceramics, which are often difficult to process using traditional methods.
Collecting, sorting, crushing and processing operations (D13) waste concrete, bricks, facing tiles and ceramics must be carried out in accordance with modern environmental standards. This involves the use of specialized equipment and technologies that minimize the negative impact on the environment and human health.
