Hazardous waste management in the city of Zboriv, ​​Ternopil region is an important environmental task for preserving the natural balance and preventing environmental pollution. In 2023, more than 30 tons of toxic materials were transported from the city to specialized enterprises that process them. To minimize environmental risks, transportation is carried out in sealed containers that prevent leakage of hazardous substances.

Since Zboriv does not have its own enterprise for the processing of toxic materials, most hazardous waste is transported to specialized plants in other regions. Local authorities cooperate with state and international environmental organizations to improve the hazardous waste management system. In 2023, Zboriv received funding in the amount of 1.4 million hryvnias to improve the system of collection, transportation and storage of toxic substances. One of the important measures is the creation of mobile collection points, which will allow more efficient organization of the waste disposal process.

Prevention of illegal handling of hazardous waste remains an important direction of the city's environmental policy. In 2023, 8 cases of illegal dumping of toxic materials in places not intended for this were recorded. To combat such violations, it is planned to strengthen environmental control, install video surveillance cameras in critical areas and increase fines.

An integrated approach to hazardous waste management allows Zboriv to gradually improve the environmental situation. The introduction of modern methods of collection, transportation, storage and processing of toxic materials contributes to reducing the level of pollution and protecting natural resources. However, to further improve this area, it is necessary to increase funding for environmental programs, expand the network of collection points and more actively involve the public in environmental initiatives.
