Digestive acids are an important component in metal processing processes, especially in the field of mechanical engineering, metallurgy and electronics. They are used to clean the surface of metals from oxides, corrosion and other impurities. However, despite their usefulness, digestive acids pose a serious threat to the environment and human health.

The metal pickling process involves the use of strong acids such as sulfuric, nitric, hydrochloric and phosphoric acids. These acids are highly toxic and aggressive substances that can cause significant damage if mishandled. The problem lies in the large amount of hazardous waste generated by the use of caustic acids. This waste may contain heavy metals, toxic organic compounds and other harmful substances.

Methods of ecological management of hazardous acid wastes are extremely important to reduce the negative impact on the environment. The main operations include the collection, sorting, crushing and processing of these wastes. However, even if all the rules are followed, there is always a risk of leakage or improper storage, which can lead to serious environmental disasters.

There are several methods of reducing the negative impact of digestive acids on the environment and human health. The main strategies include:
