Synthetic lubricants and coolants (MOR) are important components in machining processes. They provide effective lubrication and cooling of working surfaces, which reduces friction, reduces tool wear and improves the quality of machined parts. However, the use of these liquids creates a number of environmental problems that require special attention and effective management methods.
MORs are used in many industries, including automotive, aviation, shipbuilding, and others. They are composed of a variety of chemicals that provide their lubricating and cooling properties. - pollution of water resources: toxic substances can enter surface and underground water, which leads to the death of aquatic organisms and deterioration of the quality of drinking water;
- soil pollution: toxic wastes that enter the soil can accumulate in plants, which negatively affects the food chain and biodiversity;
- air pollution: some chemicals can evaporate into the atmosphere, causing air pollution and affecting human and animal health.
Methods of environmental management of hazardous waste synthetic lubricants and coolants for machining include proper collection, sorting, transportation and treatment of these wastes. An important component of this process is the use of modern technologies that minimize the negative impact on the environment (R9).
Pity for people
Contact with synthetic lubricating and cooling fluids can be dangerous for the health of people who work with them. They can cause various diseases, including dermatitis, allergic reactions, respiratory diseases and others:
- skin diseases: contact with liquids can cause irritation, dryness and dermatitis;
- respiratory diseases: the evaporation of some chemicals can lead to the development of asthma, bronchitis and other diseases of the respiratory tract;
- carcinogenic effects: some components of MOR can be carcinogenic, increasing the risk of developing cancer;
