Many chemicals are used in industry, which can pose a danger to the environment and human health. One of these substances are oils containing acids, used in various industries because of their useful chemical properties.

Oils containing acids are produced and used in many industrial processes, but their mismanagement can lead to serious consequences. These substances can pollute soil, water bodies and air, creating serious threats to ecosystems and human health.

The main problem is that oils containing acids are complex chemical compounds that are difficult to handle and process. These oils can contain various harmful substances, such as heavy metals, polyaromatic hydrocarbons and other toxic components. In the process of use, they can undergo oxidation and decomposition, which leads to the formation of even more dangerous substances.

In addition, oils containing acids are often used in large volumes, increasing the risk of contamination if mismanaged. For example, in the automotive industry and mechanical engineering, such oils are used to lubricate and cool parts. At the end of their service life, they become hazardous waste that requires special treatment.

Another important problem is the lack of adequate infrastructure for the collection and treatment of such waste in many regions. Many enterprises do not have access to appropriate technologies and capacities for the safe management of hazardous waste, which leads to improper storage or even illegal dumping of oils into the environment.

It is also worth noting that the shortcomings of the legislative framework and insufficient control by state bodies contribute to the worsening of the situation. Many countries do not have sufficiently strict norms and standards to regulate the hazardous waste management process, which makes it difficult to effectively solve the problem.

Oils containing acids often end up in uncontrolled environments where they can seep into the soil, contaminating aquifers and causing aquatic toxicity. This, in turn, can lead to the death of fish, contamination of drinking water and a negative impact on agricultural crops.

Oils containing acids can also evaporate and enter the atmosphere, creating additional air quality problems. These fumes may contain dangerous chemicals that can cause respiratory disease in humans and animals when inhaled.

As oils containing acids are often used in large volumes in various industries, the scale of the problem becomes even greater. Improper management of such waste can lead to catastrophic consequences for both the environment and human health. This emphasizes the need to develop and implement effective methods of environmental management of hazardous waste.

In order to reduce the damage from oils containing acids, it is necessary to use modern methods of environmental management of hazardous waste. Among them:

• operations for the collection, sorting, crushing and treatment of hazardous waste from oils containing acids (D13);
• using recycling technologies to remove toxic components;
• transportation of hazardous waste from oils containing acids to specialized facilities for safe storage and treatment (D15);
• development and implementation of regulations to control the waste management process;
