In addition, asbestos can cause lung cancer, which is one of the most common and dangerous types of cancer. People who work with asbestos or live near production sites have a significantly higher risk of developing these diseases.
Ways to reduce harm
In order to reduce the damage from asbestos cement production waste, it is necessary to take comprehensive measures, which include:
- implementation of modern methods of environmental management of hazardous asbestos-cement production waste containing asbestos;
- ensuring efficient collection and sorting of waste;
- shredding and processing of waste in order to reduce its volume and toxicity;
- safe transportation of hazardous asbestos-cement production waste containing asbestos.
